Admission Requirements
Online Practitioner Teacher Program candidates must meet all of the following:
- Possess a non-education baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited university AND
- Hold a current teaching position as a teacher of record or possess a letter of intent to hire from a Louisiana school district AND
- Have a cumulative 2.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale on all undergraduate coursework AND
- Pass PRAXIS II: Content Knowledge (content-specific area) examination
Note: This program accepts students for Fall 1 and Summer 1 terms.

Academics
The Practitioner Teacher Program allows prospective candidates who hold a teaching position or letter of intent for employment from a parish school board to become certified to teach in one year.

It is possible to complete this certificate in one year depending on when a student enters the program. The last two semesters will be spent in a PreK-12 school session.

Teachers seeking PK-3 certification, which requires 24 credit hours, can fulfill their requirements with this Post-Bach program, as it includes additional courses necessary to meet the full certification requirements. Please refer to course listings below for additional courses.
Licensure and Certification
