What is the BS in Public Health 2+2 Program? 

The online BS in Public Health is designed as a 2+2 program, and it offers an innovative pathway for students to pursue their passion for public health. But what is a 2+2 program? Here's what you need to know: 
 
First 2 Years: The program begins with two years (on average) at another educational institution, where you'll complete prerequisite coursework amounting to 60 credit hours. This initial phase provides a strong foundation in various general education subjects and ensures that all students meet the necessary requirements before advancing to the core public health curriculum. Since you may attend the university or college you choose, this can often be a cost-effective way of earning a bachelor’s degree in public health. The universities within the LSU family of institutions are great options for your first two years of coursework, as our schools are all accredited, affordable, and provide quality education.  
 
The following degrees offer the foundation you need to get started: 

• LSUA online Associate of Science
• LSUE online Associate of General Studies

Or, you may complete your prerequisite classes by taking individual courses that count toward college credit.

Last 2 Years: Once you've completed the prerequisite coursework, you'll transition to LSU Health New Orleans for the remaining 60 credits of the program. Who qualifies for a SPHERE Scholarship? 

• A student receiving support from grant funds must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States.
• Awardees must be admitted to the BSPH or MPH programs of LSUHSC SPH.
• Awardees may be full or part-time students.
