Meet Lindsey Brow

What were your biggest challenges in the online MPH from LSUS/LSUHS, and how did you overcome them?

My biggest challenge was overcoming the doubt that I could get everything done. I have a full-time job and a family, so I would panic a little every seven weeks (when I started a new class). But the online format and the structure of the courses never proved to be something I couldn't handle.

What was your favorite course or topic? Why?

Environmental Health, hands down. The material was interesting and highlighted the link between health and the environment. It was also one of the most challenging courses. There was a lot of material that had to be covered, which at first seemed overwhelming. But after completing the course, I was proud of myself for meeting the challenge.

What did you appreciate most about the faculty and support services offered through the program?

The faculty was extremely supportive and willing to help. Instructors and Student Success Coaches would frequently check in to make sure everything was going okay and that there were no issues or concerns. You really felt like the faculty were genuinely concerned with your success in the program.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering this program?

Don't let self-doubt be an obstacle to enrolling in the program. This program is achievable even with the busiest of schedules.

How has your career progressed since graduating?

Since graduating, I have been recently promoted to the Director of Infection Prevention and Control for the health system I work for. Completing the online MPH program has given me several tools I will utilize in this new role.
