Requirements for Freshmen
Applicants for admission to the freshman class are normally required to submit scores on the American College Test (ACT) in order to be placed at the appropriate levels in freshman courses, for counseling, and for selection of scholarship recipients.
Graduates of state-approved high schools or those who hold a G.E.D or HiSET and have not attended another college or university will be considered for admission when they have made an application.
Louisiana residents who are not graduates of state-approved high schools and have not attended another college or university may apply for admission by submitting their G.E.D. or HiSET transcript.
Louisiana residents who have graduated from a high school not approved by the State Department of Education or who do not have a G.E.D. or HiSET can be admitted under the Ability to Benefit provision.

Requirements for Transfer Students
Applicants must have satisfactory records in other colleges and universities to apply for admission.
Louisiana residents who have attempted fewer than 12 hours of college credit will be considered on the same basis as a student who earns a similar record at LSU Eunice.
All transfer students must be eligible to re-enroll at the last college or university last attended.

Financial Assistance: M.J. Foster Promise Program
Financial aid: Financial assistance will be available through the M.J. Foster Promise Program beginning in Fall 2022. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Louisiana resident and U.S. citizen who is 21 years of age or older.
Meet a family income that does not exceed 300% of the Federal Poverty Level or be unemployed or underemployed for six months prior to receiving the grant. - Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent or co-enroll in a qualified program of study and in a program to earn high school credential.
Have not previously earned an undergraduate degree at the associate level or above. - Commit to reside in Louisiana one year after completion and to perform 20 hours of community service, an internship, or a mentorship annually to main the award.
Academics
Students who graduate with an online medical and coding billing certificate of technical studies will gain the skills necessary to process and manage patient records, billing, and medical claims.

Courses
The online CTS in Medical Billing and Coding offered through LSU Eunice and LSU Online requires 35 credits to earn your certificate and complete in as few as 16 months.
Your personal credit requirements could be less depending on eligible transferable credits and credit earned from prior learning assessments.
We may consider accepting credits towards general education courses over 10 years old based on an individual's past performance and career achievements. Each case will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility for credit transfer. This includes current licensed professionals such as Nurses, Physician Assistants, Doctors, Medical Surgical Technicians, Nurse Practitioners, and others.
