LSU Online Professor discusses Ageism in Healthcare
Dr. Holly Wilson, Chair of the Department of Arts, English and Humanities & Professor of Philosophy at LSU Alexandria, was recently quoted in an online article titled How COVID-19 has Created Ageism in Healthcare from Health Management by Sarah Daren.
She mentions that news stories do not accurately cover the deaths in nursing homes, which makes these deaths seem unimportant or not perceived to be tragic. This results in ageism in healthcare news reporting.
