Application Checklist - LSU Shreveport/LSUHSC-S

Get started on your degree program by following these steps

Here is a step-by-step guide to completing the LSU Shreveport/LSUHSC-S MPH Online Program application and enrollment process. Talk to your Concierge team member about deadlines; they’ll help you every step of the way!

1. Apply for Admission for the online LSU Shreveport Master of Public Health program.

To complete an application for admission, applicants must submit the following materials by the respective application deadline:

  • Complete LSU Shreveport application. Students initially apply to LSU Shreveport for admission to the program but will virtually attend classes at both LSU Shreveport and LSUHSC-Shreveport campuses. The application fee is $50. For the Online program select: Accelerated Online Master of Public Health (K2100).
  • Submit official transcripts from all college-level institutions ever attended to:
LSU Shreveport Office of Admissions and Records
    One University Place, AD-168
    Shreveport, Louisiana 71115
    Or electronically to: admissions@lsus.edu.
  • Letters of Recommendation: As part of the admission process, you are required to provide 3 letters of recommendation to the MPH Program. To facilitate this process, please click on the survey button below, copy the URL in the address bar and paste the link in an email to your references. This evaluation survey should take about 5 minutes to complete and fulfills the requirement for the letters of recommendation. The survey link can be found here.
  • Interview: The next step will be a Sparkhire interview via email. The link to the video can be found here. Your resume must be uploaded along with your interview. This interview can be completed while your application is being processed. However, your application will not be considered complete until both the resume and interview are uploaded.

2. Check Application Status

Check on all required materials for your application at LSU Shreveport application. Reminder all required documents must be in by the required deadline to be reviewed. For deadlines be sure to reach out to your Enrollment Concierge team member.

3. Complete Funding Options

If you plan to use federal financial aid, you should begin that process as soon as possible. You can learn more about Financial Aid by visiting the LSU Shreveport Financial Aid website or you can contact Financial Aid directly at: finaid@lsus.edu or 318-797-5363.

4. Admissions Decision

Upon acceptance into the program your dedicated Enrollment Concierge will schedule a welcome call between you and your dedicated Learner Concierge team member. Your Learner Concierge will be your on campus advocate and can help to answer questions for you along the way. Within a couple of days of being admitted you will be able to access your LSU Shreveport credentials including your username and email through your application portal. Once this is received you will need to log into your MyLSUS Portal and activate your LSU Shreveport Email.

5. Complete the LSU Health Science Center – Shreveport supplemental form

Because the LSU Shreveport/LSUHSC-S MPH Program is a joint venture between these Universities, you need credentials at both campuses. To do this you will need to complete a supplemental information form for LSUHSC-Shreveport. Your Learner Concierge will provide this form to you during your Welcome Call. You must complete this form before you can be advised for any classes in the MPH program.

6. Schedule Classes

You will be assigned an MPH faculty member for curriculum advising. Your adviser will let you know what classes to take and what your plan of study will look like. From there your Learner Concierge can help to walk you through the scheduling process. You can also access those steps at this quick link: How to Schedule a Course.

7. Complete Registration

Once a class has been scheduled you will need to go in to your myLSUS account and pay your fee bill. If you are utilizing financial aid you can contact their office directly at: finaid@lsus.edu or 318-797-5363. You can login to your myLSUS account to view and pay your fee bill following these steps.
