Moodle Has Been Upgraded!

LSU Online and Continuing Education has successfully upgraded both regular Moodle (moodle.lsu.edu) and the LSU Online Moodle (lsuonline.moodle.lsu.edu) instances from Moodle 3.7 to 3.9. This video outlines the changes from 3.7 and demonstrates the new features. Our website houses useful resources related to the upgrade.
Sporadic interruptions remain possible through May 17th as we address last minute fixes. We also apologize to those of you who received the unexpected Moodle emails when the update was completed! That feature was turned off once identified.
Please note that Moodle 3.9 is not substantively different from 3.7 in look and feel. The differences that do exist are from new or advanced features. Moodle 3.9’s Forum activity has added grading capabilities. The biggest new addition is Ally's integration into Moodle 3.9. Ally is an accessibility tool that provides faculty with feedback on the accessibility of the resources they have added. Ally provides a score and then steps to improve the document or media's accessibility. Students will not see this information as it only impacts the faculty view. In addition, we are prioritizing Panopto. Many faculty embed or link to video resources. We offer both Kaltura and Panopto but are encouraging the use of Panopto.
