Meet Paige Stabile

What program and school are you in, and why did you choose your program?
I’m currently enrolled at LSU Eunice in the Associate of Arts in Humanities online program. I chose this program because I wanted an education that focused on critical thinking, writing, history, and understanding people and culture. The humanities felt like the perfect path for my interests in entrepreneurship, social media marketing, psychology, and creative writing.

What are your biggest challenges and how do you overcome them?
Online learning requires a high level of self-discipline, which can be challenging at times, but I overcome this by creating structured routines, breaking assignments into manageable steps, and working ahead whenever possible.

How has the online learning experience differed from your expectations?
The online learning experience felt familiar to me because I was in high school during the COVID era and already had experience with online classes. Because of that, the transition to online college coursework was smoother than I expected. Being able to work at my own pace and on my own schedule has made it easier to stay on track and balance college with other responsibilities.

What has been your favorite course or topic? Why?
My favorite course so far has been Fundamentals of Communication with Professor Rachelle Brown. It stood out because I was able to apply what I was learning immediately to my day-to-day life, both personally and professionally. The course has been the most useful for me so far, and I really appreciated the time and effort that went into making the material engaging and practical.

How does the program prepare you for your career or career advancement?
The humanities program has strengthened skills that apply to nearly every career path, including critical analysis, communication, research, and ethical reasoning. These skills are especially valuable in entrepreneurship and marketing, where understanding people, ideas, and narratives is essential.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering the program?
Be proactive and take ownership of your learning. Online education offers flexibility, but it works best when you stay organized and find creative ways to keep yourself focused.

What do you see as the biggest benefits of an online education?
The biggest benefits are flexibility and accessibility. Online learning makes it possible to balance school with work and personal responsibilities while still receiving a quality education. It also builds independence and time management skills that are valuable far beyond college.
