The University of New Orleans is entering a new chapter as it prepares to rejoin the LSU System in July 2026 as LSU New Orleans. This transition reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality education, strengthening academic offerings, and deepening impact across Louisiana.
As part of this transition, LSU Online will begin supporting select existing online degree programs from LSU New Orleans starting in Fall 2026. This partnership expands access for learners who want the flexibility to earn a degree from anywhere while staying connected to a university rooted in New Orleans’ culture, industries, and community.
Applications will open in April 2026 for students planning to begin in Fall 2026. Supported programs include:
- Master of Science in Engineering Management
- Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management
- Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
These programs are part of LSU New Orleans’ established academic portfolio and will continue to be delivered by university faculty, with LSU Online providing additional support for online learners.
Through this collaboration, students will enroll at LSU New Orleans and complete the same academically rigorous curriculum in a flexible, asynchronous learning environment. LSU Online will provide dedicated support services, including student success coaching, onboarding guidance, and academic resources to help learners stay on track from application through graduation.
Each program reflects key areas of strength and opportunity:
- The MS in Engineering Management prepares professionals to lead complex projects and advance into management roles.
- The MS in Hospitality and Tourism Management builds on New Orleans’ global reputation as a leading destination city.
- The BA in Philosophy strengthens critical thinking and ethical reasoning applicable across industries.
Throughout the transition, LSU New Orleans will remain focused on academic continuity, ensuring students can continue and complete their degrees as planned while preserving the faculty expertise and programs that define the institution.
This collaboration reflects a broader effort to expand access to LSU New Orleans while supporting workforce needs across Louisiana and beyond.
Applications for Fall 2026 open in April.
