This new service saves you time, eliminates transcript request fees, and simplifies the admissions process so you can focus on what really matters—your education. 

What is the Free Transcript Service? 

LSU Online now offers a hassle-free way to request transcripts for students applying to an online undergraduate or graduate program. When you opt in during the application process, LSU Online will request official transcripts from your previous schools on your behalf.  

Who Is Eligible?

This service is only available to applicants of LSU programs. If you’re applying to an online undergraduate or graduate program from LSU, you can take advantage of this benefit!

Are There Any Limitations?

While LSU Online does its best to obtain transcripts for students, some schools do not participate in third-party requests. If LSU Online is unable to retrieve your transcripts, you will be notified and will need to request them yourself. Additionally, this service does not include:

• Letters of non-attendance
• International transcripts
• In-progress transcripts

How to Use LSU’s Free Transcript Service

Step 1: Opt In During Your Application

When filling out your online application, simply check the box to authorize LSU Online to request your transcripts from previous institutions.

Step 2: LSU Online Handles the Requests

Once you opt in, LSU Online submits transcript requests within 24-48 business hours. Most transcripts arrive within 3-5 business days, but if there are any delays or holds, you’ll receive a notice from onlinerequests@lsu.edu. 

Step 3: Track Your Progress

If transcripts are delayed, you can check with your previous school to resolve any issues. If you have already applied and want to opt in, contact your Enrollment Coach for assistance.
