What initially made you apply to your certificate program at LSU Online?  
I was searching for ways to make sure my career took off well, but I also needed something affordable. Also, I was looking to broaden my knowledge and skill set in the business/technology realm, and analytics was an area that seemed interesting to me. 
 
What do you see as the biggest benefits of online education?  
The biggest benefits are affordability and convenience. Online learning allows you to get a quality education on your own time.  
 
What skills or knowledge from the program have been most valuable in your job?  
Throughout my career, I can keep literally every skill I have learned, from SQL to Data Visualization to Data Cleansing Methods. Another valuable, transferable skill I gained was learning and operating on a fast-paced level. This course is fast-paced and has lots of information to learn, but it makes you comfortable in spaces like [the tech arena]. It’s really similar to real-world scenarios.  
 
What are your career goals, and how do you see yourself using your certificate in the future?  
My goals when starting this program were to obtain a job and start my career. Before this program, I applied for many jobs but did not receive any offers. After starting this program, I was fortunate to get a job offer before I even finished the program! My last week of class was also my first week working as an Analytics Consultant at IBM. 
 
What advice would you give to prospective students considering the program?  
All of the material you need to do well is outlined for you. All you have to do is dedicate time to learning the material and methods. The concepts may be new to you and complex, but they are definitely something you can learn. Good luck and Geaux Tigers!
