Spring 2 2025 classes start on March 17, 2025
LSU Shreveport
LSU Shreveport's online Master of Education in Educational Leadership gives students the skills and expertise to engage in leadership opportunities beyond the classroom and help improve their community, school, and students' lives. The curriculum focuses on essential aspects of educational leadership, including schoolwide planning, technology implementation, management logistics, and a study of the appropriation and allocation of public financial resources for education. Course work aligns with national and state standards: the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) standards, the Standards for School Principals in Louisiana (SSPL), and the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL).
The MEDL degree is simply the first step in the principal (or school leader) certification process. In most states and countries, degree earners seeking those certifications in public schools are also required to take certification exams (often called PRAXIS exams). Students are advised to research requirements from the licensing agency of their respective state or country to ensure compliance leading to the desired professional certification.
This program meets rigorous national standards set by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.
An exceptional education experience at an affordable price.
Designed to be flexible and convenient for working professionals.
Qualified applicants in certain programs may meet the requirements for the TEACH Grant.
The biggest tip that I have is just go for it. If you’re thinking about it, LSUS has the best staff, best people that’ll work with you. If there’s a question you have, somebody can answer it. If they can’t answer it, they can find someone that can answer it.
