Zoom
Current LSU students, faculty, and staff have access to Zoom. Zoom can be used to conduct an audio/video conference, share your screen, poll audience members, etc. To download the Zoom client, please see this GROK article.
Uses
You can share your screen, a PowerPoint, use the whiteboard application, and enable your webcam (optional).
Zoom has a plug in for Moodle which enables easier use of Zoom for virtual office hours and remote lectures. Please note: Ag Center faculty who are teaching may request access to Zoom from ITS for the term’s duration, but will not be able to use Moodle’s Zoom plug in.
Considerations
All recorded and shared videos must be captioned and adhere to accessibility standards with a transcript provided to students. Zoom’s cloud recording feature includes auto-captioning, but these captions should be edited prior to distribution. PowerPoint translator may be used to provide live captioning to Zoom lectures and presentations for Windows machines only.
