Build the In-Demand Skills to Be a Successful Facilities Manager

The Principles of Facilities Management MicroCred for College Credit Certificate from LSU Online & Continuing Education provides students with the necessary knowledge base for successful facilities management. Students will learn organizational and team coordination, decision-making, budget planning, tax planning, financial controls, and more. Coursework also includes an overview of business administration. After finishing the program, professionals who earn this certificate will be able to make educated decisions using a wide range of methods. They will also be able to make long or short-range plans for most facilities.

Upon completion of the three-course series (see list below), students will receive an LSU MicroCred digital badge that can be used for online résumés, personal websites, or social media. In addition, these college courses can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM). The 8-week courses may also be used for continuing education units/credits required by certain certifications and licenses.

The courses in this MicroCred are regular three-credit-hour LSU courses. Each online course runs on a term of 8 weeks. You must complete all three courses to earn the MicroCred and receive the digital badge.


These online courses require access to a computer with Internet access, email, an Internet browser (Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox recommended), MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.

MicroCred® Digital Badge Details

Successful completion of all courses within the program earns you an official LSU MicroCred® digital badge to show off your skill sets.
