The courses in this MicroCred are regular three-credit LSU courses offered through Online Distance Learning. You are allowed six months to complete each course; however, because courses are self-paced, you may complete a course in as little as four weeks. Each course includes a syllabus that explains the course requirements. The courses are completed entirely online.
These online courses require access to a computer with Internet access, email, an Internet browser (Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox recommended), MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Successful completion of all courses within the program earns you an official LSU digital badge to show off your skill sets. Learners will be able to pursue a career as an auditor with a public accounting firm, complete the auditing portion of the CPA examination, and understand of the role of professional accounting. They will understand how information is produced from accounting information systems to inform decision-making and the conceptual foundations, control, and audit of information systems. They will also recognize the symptoms and indicators of fraud and know how to fight fraud.
